Why You Need A Voice When You Got A Verse?

Matthew 10:7-8 CSB “As you go, proclaim, ‘The kingdom of heaven has come near.’ 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you received, freely give.”

Mark 16:17-18 ESV “And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Please don’t misunderstand this article. I believe it’s awesome to hear God’s voice audibly. He’s the same yesterday today and forever. So He still speaks to people audibly at times, yes. The question is, do we need to hear God’s audible voice before we act on His behalf when we have verses telling us what to do? The word of God is His voice. So we should follow His instructions found in scripture as if the heavens opened up and God spoke to us through the clouds. Because believe it or not that’s exactly what He does through His word. The Lord Himself told us to do miracles in His name. He says all who believe will do them in some form or fashion. We have been given authority from on high!😊 And the Holy Spirit gives the ability to perform God’s works. Let us ask our Father to guide us to those who are sick and need healing in His name. To guide us to those who need demons expelled from them in His name. To guide us to those who need to be raised from the dead (yes) in His name. And to those who need to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ in His mighty name. Again, we don’t have to hear an audible voice from heaven to act. The more we study God’s word the more we hear Him speak. We already have legal jurisdiction throughout the earth from God to do mighty things in His almighty name. WOW!

ALL who believe in Jesus have this authority. Not just Pastors, Teachers, Prophets, Apostles, etcetera. No special title is necessary. Jesus says ANYONE who believes in Him will heal the sick, raise the dead, speak in tongues, drive out demons, and do other marvelous things for the glory of God. (Romans 12:4-8 1 Corinthians 12:4-11) It is the Holy Spirit who gives spiritual gifts and abilities to each believer. Again, IT IS OUR RIGHT as children of God. We have license over every evil spirit and ALL dark powers of the enemy:

Luke 10:17-20 CSB “The seventy-two, returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even THE DEMONS SUBMIT TO US IN YOUR NAME.” 18 He said to them, “I watched Satan fall from heaven like lightning. 19 Look, I HAVE GIVEN YOU AUTHORITY to trample on snakes and scorpions and OVER ALL THE POWER OF THE ENEMY; nothing at all will harm you. 20 However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that YOUR NAMES ARE WRITTEN IN HEAVEN.”

Matthew 28:18-20 ESV “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
