Jesus Thought YOU Were Worth It

Jesus Thought YOU Were Worth It

John 3:16 KJV “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

“I’d rather die for you than live without you.”

That’s the sentiment the cross speaks to me and then some. Jesus thought you and I were worth it. What a loving God!😂

How many appreciate what Jesus Christ did for them? Only a few. (Matthew 7:13-14) And what a tragedy to trample on the son of God and crucify Him all over again:

Hebrews 6:4-6 NLT “For it is impossible to bring back to repentance those who were once enlightened-those who have experienced the good things of heaven and shared in the Holy Spirit, [5] who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the power of the age to come- [6] and who then turn away from God. It is impossible to bring such people back to repentance; by rejecting the Son of God, they themselves are nailing him to the cross once again and holding him up to public shame.”

In light of the passage we just read is anything Satan offers us worth turning away from God? Some by rejecting the son of God are crucifying Him all over again?😩 Jesus thought you and I were worth dying for. Do we think Jesus is worth it? Worth our time? Our thoughts? Our devotion? Our obedience? I hope we do. I hope we do.

The Hour Of Proving

The Hour Of Proving

Revelation 3:10 TPT “Because you’ve passionately kept my message of perseverance, I will also keep you from the hour of proving that is coming to test every person on earth.”

Some think when Jesus says He will keep us from the hour of test (or proving) it means we won’t have to experience great tribulation. But could it mean that He will keep us safely through such a time? That He will keep it from consuming us? That He will keep us from losing our faith?🤔 Could we be in the hour of proving or testing and not even know it?😳 Can anyone think of when our faith has been tested like it is right now?🤔

Jesus said the hour of proving or testing would come upon everyone living on earth not just believers. Again some think the church will not go through great tribulation, that we will be raptured out of here before it all happens. But is that what scripture says? (Acts 14:22 Matthew 24:29-31) And when people are losing their jobs, homes, and more because they refuse to take a vaccine, is this not great tribulation?🤔

Revelation 7:9-10,13-15 KJV “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; [10] And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. [13] And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? [14] And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, THESE ARE THEY WHICH CAME OUT OF GREAT TRIBULATION, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. [15] Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.”

The scripture clearly says that the multitude praising God and the Lamb (Jesus) in heaven from every tribe, nation, people, and tongue, “have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” It also says, “THESE ARE THEY WHICH CAME OUT OF GREAT TRIBULATION.” To come out of something means you had to be in it, right?🤔 If you came out of the car it means you were in the car. If you came out of the house you were in the house. If you came out of a bad relationship it means you were in a bad relationship, correct? We the church won’t experience God’s wrath, the world experiences that, but we will go through and hopefully be counted worthy to safely come out of GREAT TRIBULATION as scripture says. There is no reason to fear because Jesus keeps His loyal ones safe.😊

Luke 21:34‭-‬36 TPT “Be careful that you never allow your hearts to grow cold. Be careful that you are not caught off guard, or your hearts will be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and the worries of this life, and that day will come upon you suddenly like a trap. Don’t let me come and find you drunk or living carelessly like everyone else. For that day will come as a shocking surprise to all. Keep a constant watch over your soul, and pray for the courage and grace to prevail over these things that are destined to occur and that you will stand before the presence of the Son of Man with a clear conscience.”

Since the pandemic everything Jesus warned us about in Luke 21:34-36 has been even more on the rise. Drinking/drunkenness, cold-heartedness, depression, worry, stress, doing any and everything to forget our problems has skyrocketed! These are facts even the controlled news media have reported. People are trying to cope with life during the pandemic. It appears that folks are losing their minds and the love of most has grown even colder. (Matthew 24:12) People are losing their homes, their jobs, and more over vaccine mandates around the world!😳 Some refuse to take the vaccine because of religious beliefs. When you lose your job, your home, and more because of your faith things get pretty real. Think about that for a moment.🤔 Could we be in the hour of testing or proving that Jesus said would come to test EVERYONE living on earth? Is not being able to work or provide for yourself and your loved ones (on top of everything else going on in the world) great tribulation, and a great test?🤔

Jesus knew this time would come. NOTHING catches Him off guard. We are being tested as scripture foretold. It will become increasingly evident as the days go by who really loves God and who does not. What would you call the state the world is in today? The world calls it, “The new normal.” It’s interesting how such titles can divert folks attention away from what’s really going on as prophesied in God’s word. (Matthew chapter 24, Mark chapter 13, Luke chapter 21) If you’re a follower of Jesus and are feeling tired and worn out by the times we’re in I hope this next passage encourages you:😊

Revelation 3:8‭-‬13 TPT “I know all that you’ve done. Now I have set before you a wide-open door that none can shut. For I know that you possess only a little power, yet you’ve kept my word and haven’t denied my name. Watch how I deal with those of the synagogue of Satan who say that they are Jews but are not, for they’re lying. I will make them come and bow down at your feet and acknowledge how much I’ve loved you. Because you’ve passionately kept my message of perseverance, I will also keep you from the hour of proving that is coming to test every person on earth. But I come swiftly, so cling tightly to what you have, so that no one may seize your crown of victory. For the one who is victorious, I will make you to be a pillar in the sanctuary of my God, permanently secure. I will write on you the name of my God and the name of the city of my God—the New Jerusalem, descending from my God out of heaven. And I’ll write my own name on you. So the one whose heart is open let him listen carefully to what the Spirit is now saying to all the churches.”

Hypocrites Are Dangerous

Hypocrites Are Dangerous

Proverbs 11:9 KJV “An HYPOCRITE WITH HIS MOUTH destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.”

It is the course of wisdom to avoid hypocrites. They are dangerous people. They are liars, gossips, slanderers, revilers, etcetera. Among those responsible for the death of Jesus were the Pharisees, some of the worse hypocrites ever. Like them there are many today. These love to hide behind the guise of God. Imagine using God’s name to obtain your evil desires. That is a special kind of evil. (Matthew 6:23) Fiery judgment awaits them!😩

Is it injustice for God to appoint hypocrites to the lake of fire? God can do no evil, so no it’s not unfair. Imagine all your life pretending to be what you’re not (lying)? Using a phony relationship with God to get people to lower their guard, trick them, and get from them what you want?😇 Then once you’ve earned thier trust and are finished using them you deal them that betrayal blow? Ouch! How painful.😩 You’re also the kind of person that enjoys doing this to people again and again?😆 Nah, it is not unjust for God to send such to the lake of fire:

Revelation 21:8 KJV “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and ALL LIARS, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

There’s only one way not to burn: turn! Turn from our sins or we will burn from our sins. Jesus says repent or perish. (Luke 13:1-5) The choice is ours.

I Corinthians 5:11‭-‬13 NKJV “But now I have written to you NOT TO KEEP COMPANY WITH ANYONE NAMED A BROTHER, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner—not even to eat with such a person. For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “put away from yourselves the evil person.””

God says we are to judge those inside the church who are called brother (Christians) but are living totally opposite of that profession. When Christians sin in ways mentioned above and refuse to repent GOD SAYS, “PUT AWAY FROM YOURSELVES THE EVIL PERSON.” This is not a suggestion it is a command. And it’s not a contradiction of Matthew 7:1 which says, “Judge not, that you be not judged.” (Matthew 7:1) God never contradicts Himself. In Matthew 7:1 Jesus isn’t talking about sins that hurt the church in ways mentioned at 1 Corinthians chapter 5. In 1 Corinthians 5 there was a man who was having sex with his father’s wife.😳 Yes, his own mother or mother in-law. This was a heinous sin! And the church wasn’t doing anything about it. For some reason they did not feel the need to judge the offender. Paul wrote the Corinthian church and clarified that this was indeed a matter to be judged by the whole church. (1 Corinthians 5:1-5)

There are similar situations when judgments should be made for the health of the churches sake. Unrepentant sin of this kind if left unchecked can work through and destroy an entire church. (1 Corinthians 5:6) A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough. Yes, Christians are commanded by Jesus Christ to judge such matters with righteous judgment:

John 7:24 NKJV “Do not judge according to appearance, but JUDGE with righteous judgment.”

Sadly when some in the church are approached even gently about a sin they are caught in they take it personal. Oftentimes these words come flying out, “Who are you to judge me?”😠

“Who are you to judge me?”😠 Isn’t that what religious hypocrites say whenever confronted about the most devilish sins? Once they know their masks have fallen off and you can now see them for who they really are they go on the attack. If someone claims to be a Christian and is caught in a sin GOD HIMSELF SAYS to reach out and help the erring brother or sister gently:

Galatians 6:1‭-‬2 ESV “Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Sadly when some in the church are approached even gently about a sin they are caught in they take it personal. Oftentimes these words come flying out, “Who are you to judge me?”😠 If this happens to you remember Jesus says you have authority from Him to, “judge with righteous judgment.” Just be sure that it’s truly righteous judgement based only on God’s word and not our feelings. Also remember that we who teach others will be judged too even more severely by the Lord the Bible says. (James 3:1)🤔

If a sin is committed of the nature described in 1 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 11 we are commanded by God to judge those inside the church while God judges those outside. Don’t allow folks to put guilt trips on you for doing what our Father says. People who refuse to repent while claiming to be Christians are dangerous. May we obey God in this matter. (Romans 16:17-18)

Looking For Antichrist

Looking For Antichrist

Philippians 3:20 NLT “But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are EAGERLY WAITING FOR HIM to return as our Savior.”

Where in the Bible are we told to intently look for antichrists, or the antichrist? Nowhere. Where are we told in the Bible to eagerly await and look for the real Jesus Christ and His return? Multiple places in scripture. Many Christians seem to be fascinated with who, “The Antichrist,” is. They appear to be looking for this guy way more than they are seeking the real true Christ. What good is it if I know who antichrist is and I don’t know the real Christ?

Many feel their intense search for, “The Antichrist,” is justified because if they can figure out who this antichrist is they will have a better understanding of when Jesus will return. Hence they view seeking antichrist’s identity as synonymous with the return of Jesus Christ. But Jesus tells us plainly how to understand when he will return. (Read Matthew chapter 24 Mark chapter 13 and Luke chapter 21)

Again, if I don’t know and understand who the real Jesus Christ is through an intimate, personal relationship with Him, what good is it to know who the Antichrist is? I will still be judged and condemned with the rest of the world.😰 I find it very interesting that the phrase, “The Antichrist,” is being inserted in many passages of scripture where it does not appear. And this is being done by many well known and well meaning Bible teachers. These same teachers will say that we should not go beyond what is written, or put any man’s word above the written word of Almighty God as stated in 1 Corinthians 4:6.

1 Corinthins 4:6 KJV “And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us NOT TO THINK OF MEN ABOVE THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.”

The scripture clearly says that we should, “not think of men [any human being] above that which is written.” Let us obey God and not human personalities. We are told in the Bible to TEST EVERYTHING, no matter who says it. (1 Thessalonians 5:21 Acts 17:11) As we are all growing in our relationship with God and our knowledge of Him it shouldn’t surprise us that the best of us get it wrong sometimes. Job, the most righteous man in all the earth was taught a few lessons by a much younger lad named Elihu. The older prophet Samuel when he went to the house of Jesse to anoint the Lord’s next king over Israel thought that it was one of David’s brothers because of how good looking he was. But God told Samuel he wasn’t the one the Lord chose. Aaron, Moses’ brother and fellow servant of God literally made a golden calf; an idol, for the people to worship. Oh how we all do sin and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) So don’t let it be a huge surprise if we or anyone of us need a few tweaks when it comes to our doctrine.😊

As established we need to know Jesus Christ intimately way more than anything else. Then we won’t get the mark of the beast, or worship His image, or worship antichrist, etcetera. More importantly we won’t miss out on the return of the real Christ.

Hebrews 12:2 NLT “We do this by KEEPING OUR EYES ON JESUS [not antichrist], the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.”

The Bible tells us plainly who and what antichrist is: Here are the only 4 places in the Bible where the word antichrist is ever used. Read them, study them, and study the surrounding contexts of scripture. And remember 1 Corinthians 4:6, “NOT TO THINK OF MEN ABOVE THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN.”

1. 1 John 2:18 KJV “Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, EVEN NOW THERE ARE MANY ANTICHRISTS; whereby we know that it is the last time.”

My friends that was written about 2000 years ago. And God said, “EVEN NOW there are MANY ANTICHRISTS,” not just one. Antichrists (with an “S” on the end meaning more than one) have been around for a while.🤔

2. 1 John 2:22 KJV “Who is a liar but HE THAT DENIETH THAT JESUS IS THE CHRIST? HE IS ANTICHRIST, that denieth the Father and the Son.”

God clearly says anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ; the Messiah, the Savior of the world, that person is antichrist! WOW!😳 There’s a whole lot of antichrists running around, aren’t there? Not just one. We interact with antichrists everyday; at work, at school, at home, etcetera. But do not fear.

3. 1 John 4:3 KJV “And EVERY SPIRIT THAT CONFESSETH NOT THAT JESUS CHRIST IS COME in the flesh is not of God: and THIS IS THAT SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and EVEN NOW ALREADY IS IT IN THE WORLD.”

Here God says that antichrist is a SPIRIT.😳 A spirit that says Jesus Christ; the Messiah, the savior of the world did not come in the flesh. Isn’t this spirit in so many folks today? Some say Jesus was just a great prophet and not the Messiah. Others say Jesus is just a fairy tale. And others deny Him in other ways. All these have THE SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST and are antichrists the Bible says.

Do you see who the Bible says antichrist is? So why are so many focused on just one guy who’s supposed to arrive on the scene? One reason is because many well meaning Bible teachers are inserting the phrase, “The Antichrist,” in passages of scripture where God never put it.

God tells us again in 2 John 1:7 that antichrists are deceivers who deny the coming of Jesus Christ; the Messiah, the true Savior of the world. ANYONE who denies Jesus “THIS IS A DECEIVER AND AN ANTICHRIST,” 2 John 1:7 says. Did you notice that scripture uses the phrase, “AN ANTICHRIST,” and not, “THE ANTICHRIST?” Did you also notice that NOWHERE in the only 4 places in the Bible where the word, “Antichrist,” appears do you see the phrase, “THE ANTICHRIST,” meaning only one? Instead you saw written in God’s word that there are MANY ANTICHRIST DECEIVERS. You also saw that antichrist is a SPIRIT. And, “THAT SPIRIT OF ANTICHRIST,” has already been in the world for a long time.

In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 we see an antichrist that God calls The Man Of Sin, The Son Of Perdition, The Lawless One, or The Man Of Lawlessness, etcetera. But nowhere in that passage is he called, “THE ANTICHRIST.” Isn’t it better to stick to what is written in God’s word and call a thing what He calls it? Some will say I’m playing semantics here. I will say adding words and phrases in the Bible where they do not appear is very dangerous! It changes the whole meaning of what is written.

If great servants of God like Job, Aaron, the prophet Samuel, and many others needed tweaking in their beliefs and doctrine are we so proud to think we never will? And I understand that some are thinking, “There’s a Bible teacher I really like who constantly uses the phrase, “THE ANTICHRIST,” where that phrase is not written in scripture. I have quite a few Bible teachers I’ve enjoyed listening to over the years as well who insert the phrase where it’s not written in scripture too. All I can do is encourage you and myself to obey WHAT IS WRITTEN in 1 Corinthians 4:6, “NOT TO THINK OF MEN ABOVE THAT WHICH IS WRITTEN.” (KJV)

The rider on the white horse in Revelation chapter 6, the beasts in Revelation chapter 13, the last beast in the book of Daniel, the son of perdition in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2, and so on are all referred to as, “THE ANTICHRIST,” by many. Again, I understand why many insert that phrase in certain Bible passages, because these guys are all indeed vicious antichrists! But let’s be honest; the Bible never called them, “THE ANTICHRIST,” meaning the only one. That’s what the word “THE” means; one and only. That’s why Jesus is called THE way, THE truth and THE life. (John 14:6) He’s the only way the only truth and the only life. There is no other. But when it comes to antichrists—the son of perdition, the 4th beast in the book of Daniel, the two beasts in Revelation chapter 13, the rider on the white horse in Revelation chapter 6 and so on—are one of many, even if they are bigger antichrists than others.

As earlier stated, some of us work with, go to school with, even share the same home with antichrists everyday. And many of these are quite necessary. But sadly many Christians wouldn’t know an antichrist if he/she bit them because they have grown accustomed to looking for just one guy or girl to arrive on the scene.😳 “That spirit of antichrist,” is indeed deceiving and conquering many. (Revelation 6:1-2) False teaching is largely to blame here though unintentional. Do you see why it is so important to stick to exactly what is written?🤔

All of us fall short in what we say the Bible says. Let us be determined to stick to what is written please on this matter and on all Biblical issues. The beast in the book of Revelation chapter 13 is called, “The Beast.” The son of perdition in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 is called, “The Son Of Perdition.” The beasts in the book of Daniel are called, “Beasts.” These are all antichrists! Yes they are! But never are they called the only one.

More importantly let us remember what binds us all together as God’s children. It is not who knows the most and can explain scriptural doctrines better than others. What joins us all together is love in Jesus Christ Himself. We are all members of His body called to love one another which transcends all knowledge and all wisdom.😊 The purpose of writing this was not to prove anyone wrong. Our Master says it is the truth that sets us free. (John 8:32)

Ephesians 4:16 NIV “From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.”

1 Corinthians 13:1‭-‬3 RSV “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing.”

John‬ ‭13:35‬ ‭KJV “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Colossians‬ ‭3:12-14‬ ‭GNT “You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you. And to all these qualities add love, which binds all things together in perfect unity.”‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

Jesus Separates Sheep From Goats

Jesus Separates Sheep From Goats

Luke 12:51-53 KJV “Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: [52] For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. [53] The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”

Jesus foretold there would be a parting of ways between the closest individuals. His teachings would be the cause for this. Hence it is He who is doing the separating. Sheep agree with Jesus and follow His teachings. Goats disagree with Jesus’ teachings and refuse to repent. Religious goats pretend to follow Jesus but only obey their lusts. Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, husbands and wives etcetera are all affected by the mighty words of God.

Sometimes the truth frees us from bad influences we’re not aware of. These may be close relatives. How difficult it can be to see the evil in someone you love?🤔 But as you hold tightly to the word of God the truth about ourselves and others becomes manifest. That’s just how powerful God’s word is:

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

If you love God and believe in His word what He says will be first in our lives. Others (goats) put their feelings first. These different views cause divisions between kinfolks. (Amos 3:3) But make no mistake about it, Jesus Christ Himself is doing the dividing. When you follow God hatred will come at you from all directions:

Matthew 10:21‭-‬23 NLT “A brother will betray his brother to death, a father will betray his own child, and children will rebel against their parents and cause them to be killed. And ALL NATIONS WILL HATE YOU because you are my followers. BUT EVERYONE WHO ENDURES TO THE END WILL BE SAVED. When you are persecuted in one town, flee to the next. I tell you the truth, the Son of Man will return before you have reached all the towns of Israel.”

Jesus says this is a matter of life and death. Family ties are not spared. Remember this when the Lord separates you from those who dishonor Him. Remember this when you are persecuted even by those you love. Many who claim to serve Christ will be followers of their own lusts the Bible says. (Romans 16:17-18) If we are His true sheep Jesus will separate us from all goats one way or the other. Though this may be painful it’s what the good Shepard does to protect His sheep.😊
