No More Apostles And Prophets?

No More Apostles And Prophets?

Revelation 18:20 CSB “Rejoice over her, heaven, and you saints, APOSTLES AND PROPHETS, because God has pronounced on her the judgment she passed on you!”

I’ve heard religious leaders especially say there are no more apostles and prophets. If that were true why would God tell apostles and prophets in the passage above to rejoice over the judgment of Babylon The Great? Isn’t Revelation an end-times book of Bible prophecy? Isn’t Babylon The Great judged for her treatment of God’s servants at the time of the end? And God calls some of those end times servants apostles and prophets. So how can people say there are no more apostles and prophets in the last days?

This is one of the reasons why church leaders shun the idea of modern-day apostles and prophets:

1 Corinthians 12:28 LEB “And whom God has appointed in the church: FIRST, APOSTLES, SECOND, PROPHETS, third, teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helps, administrations, kinds of tongues.”

If Pastors recognize what the Bible says here, ‘God has appointed in the church FIRST Apostles and SECOND Prophets,’ they would be accepting the truth. But that would mean Pastors who are Teachers (THIRD) in God’s church must submit to the God-given authority of Apostles and Prophets. And that’s something they are not willing to do. Notice in today’s churches the buck stops with the Pastor. They act like God’s flock is their flock. They don’t want anybody claiming to be sent from God telling them what to do. They are too proud for that. And this has cost them dearly.

God sent Prophets and Apostles recently to warn Pastors about the mark of the beast. (Revelation 13:16-18, 14:9-11) But they would not listen. Instead, they helped kill God’s sheep. They did this right inside their church buildings. How? By administering to their church members the gene editing abomination that causes desolation; the covid shots. These change a human into a chimeric hybrid. The patent holders of the so-called vaccine even say in their patent it adds a third strand of DNA, a triple helix. Church folks even gave this to their children. Churches in the U.S. and around the world were the first to reopen secretly during the lockdowns and turned their places of worship into vaccination centers. How true that judgment begins first with the household of God. (Ezekiel 9:6 1 Peter 4:17 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12)

Hosea 4:6 ESV “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you have rejected knowledge, I reject you from being a priest to me. And since you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”

It doesn’t surprise me that modern-day churches are doing their own thing. In the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 14 God tells us how a church meeting should be conducted. Start reading verse 26 on down and ask yourself, what church is following these guidelines? And by the way, these are not suggestions, they’re commands from God. So if we can’t get the simplest thing right; how to meet as a church, I’m not surprised churches teach there are no more apostles and prophets. It’s all about gaining total control over God’s flock; the church, who are God’s special property. (Acts 20:28)

TEST THEM

We shouldn’t believe anybody just because they claim to be an apostle or a prophet. Jesus tells us how to handle that:

Revelation 2:2 CSB “I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people. YOU HAVE TESTED THOSE WHO CALL THEMSELVES APOSTLES and are not, and you have found them to be liars.”

Jesus says to test those who claim to be sent from God or call themselves Apostles. (1 John 4:1) But He didn’t say such does not exist. Again, Revelation 18:20 is proof that apostles and prophets do exist in these last days.

Ephesians 4:11-14 HCSB “And He personally gave some to be APOSTLES, some PROPHETS, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, for the training of the saints in the work of ministry, to build up the body of Christ, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into a mature man with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness. Then we will no longer be little children, tossed by the waves and blown around by every wind of teaching, by human cunning with cleverness in the techniques of deceit.”

1 Corinthians 12:29-31 LEB “Not all are apostles, are they? Not all are prophets, are they? Not all are teachers, are they? Not all are workers of miracles, are they? 30 Not all have gifts of healing, do they? Not all speak with tongues, do they? Not all interpret, do they? 31 But strive for the greater gifts. And I will show you a still more excellent way.”

THE MORE EXCELLENT WAY

Apostles, prophets, prophetesses, teachers, and those with spiritual gifts must never forget the more excellent way which is LOVE.

1 Corinthians 13:1-13 CSB “If I speak human or angelic tongues but do not have love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so that I can move mountains but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 And if I give away all my possessions, and if I give over my body in order to boast but do not have love, I gain nothing. 4 Love is patient, love is kind. Love does not envy, is not boastful, is not arrogant, 5 is not rude, is not self-seeking, is not irritable, and does not keep a record of wrongs. 6 Love finds no joy in unrighteousness but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. 8 Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. 9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will come to an end. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known. 13 Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love—but the greatest of these is LOVE.”
