Philip’s 4 Daughters Who Prophesied

Philip’s 4 Daughters Who Prophesied

Acts 21:8-9 KJV “And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. [9] And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.”

Philip had 4 daughters that spoke under inspiration of the Holy Spirt. They had the gift of prophecy. (1 Corinthians 14:3) This does not mean that these women were Pastors which is a different office and usurped the authority of men in church meetings. And it does not mean they disobeyed the Holy Spirit by not learning in silence during church meetings:

1 Timothy 2:11-14 KJV “Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. [12] But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. [13] For Adam was first formed, then Eve. [14] And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.”

1 Corinthians 14:33-38 KJV “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. [34] Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. [35] And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. [36] What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only? [37] If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord. [38] But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.”

There are some who think that if a woman says anything about God she is out of place; she’s teaching, and going against God’s word. How could Philip’s 4 daughters prophesy if that was the case. These women knew not to disobey God and usurp the authority of men during church meetings and they had the gift of prophecy just as many women do today. All one has to do is think a little🤔 and one will see many ways women with the gift of prophecy use their gifts.😊

Acts ‭2:17-18‬ ‭NLT “‘In the last days,’ God says, ‘I will pour out my Spirit upon ALL PEOPLE. Your sons and DAUGHTERS will prophesy. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on my servants—men AND WOMEN alike— and THEY WILL PROPHESY.”‬‬
